Register your interest

Help build readiness the right way.

We are gathering expressions of interest from people who may want to support Wildfire Response UK as the organisation and its future volunteer pathways are developed.

This is not operational recruitment

Registering interest is not an application, appointment, membership offer, training place or commitment to deploy. No live teams or callout capability are being advertised.

What interest means

Join the conversation, not an incident.

At this stage, we want to understand the experience, locations and interests of potential future volunteers—and keep people informed as the model becomes clearer.

No self-deployment

Do not attend a wildfire, incident ground, rendezvous point or affected area on behalf of Wildfire Response UK. If you see a fire or immediate danger, call 999 and follow the instructions of the emergency services.

People we would like to hear from

Different experience. One disciplined approach.

You do not need to have fought wildfires. The eventual model may need a broad mix of skills, subject to role design and appropriate checks.

Wildfire & land

Practical knowledge

Current or former fire-service personnel, land managers, foresters, ecologists and people with relevant rural experience.

Rescue & resilience

Voluntary-service insight

People with Mountain Rescue, Search and Rescue, emergency planning, community resilience or humanitarian experience.

Support skills

Capability behind the scenes

Training, logistics, communications, welfare, safeguarding, fundraising, governance, data and administration experience.

Community

Local connection

People who care about safer communities and landscapes and are prepared to work within clear standards and boundaries.

What comes next

Standards will come before scale.

If future roles proceed, they are expected to involve selection, role-specific training, assessment, ongoing competence, codes of conduct and the relevant health, identity and safeguarding checks.

Now

Record your interest and the skills or perspective you may be able to contribute.

Later

Receive occasional updates when there is meaningful progress or a suitable opportunity to contribute.

If roles open

Choose whether to enter a separate, clearly explained application and assessment process.
